5 Beauty Hacks I Swear By
Having been in the beauty industry for a while now, I absolutely relish any game changing hack that I can add to my beauty regime. For me, my daily beauty rituals are exactly that - rituals, that I soak up every second of and look forward to! But to have rituals with results.. even better. Then there are the other types of hacks which require going to see a professional but still give you long lasting benefits to really enhance your daily rituals.
These are my top five beauty hacks that I swear by!
Silk Pillow Case
It took me a while to click onto this one but there has been no looking back! Silk pillowcases can improve skin and hair hydration, prevent fine lines and wrinkles and can result in smoother, frizz-free hair. Not only are they great for skin and hair, they also just feel really dreamy to sleep on.
Face Tanning Drops
We all know what ‘actual’ tanning of the face can do to your skin (ageing etc), so we invest in good skin care & SPF to prevent UV damage and to counteract any of those bad effects we all want to avoid. The result of this is a pale face which is less than ideal to be honest.
Self tanning face drops have come a long way - back in the day it was inevitable you would break out and have massive regrets. Now all you have to do is add a few drops to your moisturiser and voila! A healthy glow and a face that matches your body….. goals.
Dermaplaning (face shaving…. kidding)
I honestly can say that since doing this, my skincare is absorbed so much better and my makeup glides on smoothly. No, your hair won’t grow back darker and thicker (it doesn’t actually touch the follicle).
Microneedling
This one might be a little more extreme and not for the faint hearted but I swear to you, my skin absolutely glows after doing this and beauty is pain, right? It’s actually not that painful.. it’s just not comfortable. Basically it is a roller with micro needles all over it and you are creating controlled micro trauma to the skin, triggering the natural repair process which promotes collagen formation and results in tighter and thicker skin. It can improve pigmentation, fine lines, pores and acne scarring. I do this every few weeks in the evenings and my skin is always quite red afterwards, and a lot more sensitive to the products I apply following the treatment (both normal side effects). I wake up with noticeably tighter, glowing skin every time! Side note - I avoid doing this if I have acne as I don’t want to spread that bacteria around my face.
Lash Lift
This one requires a professional but coming from someone who won’t leave the house without mascara, this is one of the best hacks to date. The treatment takes an hour and lasts up to ten weeks. It’s literally as good as wearing mascara, without the daily effort required.
